Poland's Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Losiak claimed their first Beach Volleyball World Tour title for three years with victory at the four-star event in Sochi.

The Polish duo, seeded 18th for the tournament in the Russian city, fought back to beat Qatar's Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan 17-21, 23-21, 15-10 in the final.

The hard-fought win handed Kantor and Losiak their third World Tour gold medal and first since they topped the podium in Warsaw in 2018.

Defeat denied Younousse and Tijan, contesting their fourth straight World Tour final following a strong showing at the Cancun Hub, a second consecutive title.

Christiaan Varenhorst and Steven van de Velde of The Netherlands took the bronze medal after they defeated Italy’s Adrian Carambula and Enrico Rossi 21-16, 26-28, 15-9.

Kantor and Losiak had reached the final of the tournament in the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic host city by overcoming the Italian pairing 25-23, 21-16.

Younousse and Tijan had to come back from a set down to book their place in the competition's showpiece, edging out Varenhorst and Van De Velde 12-21, 21-18, 15-13.
