The AJU has elected Siteny Thierry Randrianasoloniaiko as its new President ©AJU

Siteny Thierry Randrianasoloniaiko has been elected as the new President of the African Judo Union (AJU), replacing the incumbent Mali's Habib Sissoko, at the AJU Congress in Casablanca in Morocco.

Randrianasoloniaiko, who is also the President of the Malagasy Olympic Committee, defeated Chadian Olympic and Sports Committee President Abakar Djermah for the position.

Prior to his successful election, the Malagasy head was the previous chair of the AJU.

Shadrack Maluki, who is the President of the Kenya Judo Federation, has replaced Randrianasoloniaiko as chairman after being elected ahead of Togo Judo Federation President and Togolese National Olympic Committee President Deladem Akpaki.
