After finishing fifth in yesterday's men's race, Graf claimed gold today in Italy, leading home a Swiss one-two in a time of 34.912sec.

Simon Marquart, who won yesterday, was close behind for second, while Dutch rider Niek Kimmann took bronze.

Frenchmen Leo Garoyan, Romain Racine and Arthur Pilard finished fourth to sixth, Britain's Kye Whyte was seventh and France's Romain Mahieu completed the finals field in eighth.

In the women's competition, Smulders recovered from a crash in yesterday's final to claim gold in a time of 35.120.

Smulders finished ahead of Switzerland's Zoe Claessens, who was also caught up in that crash a day ago.

Russia's Natalia Afremova completed the podium, narrowly holding off Smulders' sister, Merel, who had finished second yesterday.

Britain's Bethany Shriever and Russia's Natalia Suvorova were fifth and sixth, while Felicia Stancil of the United States was seventh.

Sae Hatakeyama of Japan, who claimed bronze yesterday, completed the finals field in eighth.

Yesterday's winner Judy Baauw of The Netherlands, failed to qualify from the semi-finals, finishing sixth in her heat.

The next leg of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup is scheduled to take place on May 29 and 30 in Bogota in Colombia.
