Russia's Viktoriia Listunova and Nikita Nagornyy claimed gold today in the women's and men's all-around finals on day three of competition at the 2021 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Basel in Switzerland.

Listunova's total of 56.731 was enough to win the women's gold ahead of compatriot Angelina Melnikova on 55.432 and Britain's Jessica Gadirova on 55.100.

Finishing third in the vault, Listunova then took the lead with wins in the uneven bars and balance beam.

She then rounded off her day with a strong result in the floor exercise, finishing second to Melnikova.

Despite also winning two events - with her other victory coming in the vault - Melnikova's lower scores in the uneven bars and balance beam placed her firmly in second.

Gadirova was a clear bronze medallist, partly due to second-place finishes in the vault and balance beam.

Heading into the floor exercise, she was marginally ahead of Melnikova, but fell behind when the Russian won the event.

A distance behind the medallists was Britain's Amelie Morgan in fourth with a total of 53.565, ahead of Germany's Elisabeth Seitz in fifth on 53.398.

In the men's all-around, defending European champion and three-time world champion Nagornyy finished first ahead of compatriot David Belyavskiy, with a final score of 88.032.

Belyavskiy claimed silver by one point with a total of 85.864 ahead of bronze medallist Illia Kovtun of Ukraine on 84.864.

Ahmet Onder of Turkey was fourth on 83.598 ahead of Switzerland's Pablo Brägger in fifth with 82.265.
