London Aquatics Centre, built for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, will host racing powered by virtual platform Zwift.

The contest will feature back-to-back-to-back triathlons, each in a different order.

Each triathlon within the race will consist of a 200-metre swim, 1-likometre run on a treadmill and a 4km ride on a static bike.

Each will represent one stage of the race, with up to 10 points available in each stage depending where athletes finish.

The triathlete with the most points at the end of the day will win.

German Justus Nieschlag had that honour at the first-ever SLT Arena Games in Rotterdam last year, and is attempting to win back-to-back titles in London.

Britons Jonathan Brownlee, an Olympic medallist, and 43-year-old Tim Don, a former world champion who has focused on long-distance races in recent years, are among Nieschlag's rivals in London.

In the women's race, Dutch star Rachel Klamer - runner-up at the first SLT Arena Games - headlines a field which includes Britain's Georgia Taylor-Brown - second in the Olympic triathlon rankings - and Lucy Charles-Barclay, who is poised to make a short-course debut.

Para athletes are also due to compete in London, in their case over a 300m swim, 10km bike ride and 2km run.

When the athletes are on machines, racing is realised in the virtual world of Zwift, and SLT has signed broadcast agreements for the series to be shown across 179 territories.

There are two more SLT events on the 2021 calendar - an Arena Games in Rotterdam in April and a multi-discipline event in Tempe, Arizona in May.
