The annual Taekwondo Medicine Online Seminar was held for a third year in a row ©World Taekwondo

World Taekwondo has held its third annual Taekwondo Medicine Online Seminar, with 55 participants from 30 countries taking part in the meeting.

The World Taekwondo Medical Committee were joined by expert guest speakers who delivered reports on medical topics related to the sport.

"David" Dae Hyoun Jeong, Frank Düren, Nambi Ramamoorthy, Christina Allen and Halim Jebali represented the Committee.

These included a report from the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships, held in Manchester in the United Kingdom.

There was also information on the World Taekwondo Injury and Illness Surveillance and Prevention Programme.

Presentations were held on oral health, hand, wrist and knee injuries in taekwondo athletes, common medical issues in Para-taekwondo athletes and anti-doping and safeguarding.

David Michael O'Sullivan and Hee Seong Jeong of the International Olympic Committee Research Centre Korea were among the guest speakers.

Ian Needleman of the World Dental Federation, sports medicine specialist at the Mayo Clinic George Pujalte, GB Taekwondo performance nutritionist Phil Sharma-Woodland and United States Taekwondo's Mindy Siegel were also in attendance as speakers.

These speeches were held in 15-minute periods over the course of three hours.
