Haiti and El Salvador each squeezed out draws at the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) men's Olympic qualifier in Guadalajara to keep their slim hopes of reaching Tokyo 2020 alive.

Both had lost their opening matches, but Haiti - able to start the game with 11 players this time - held Canada to a goalless draw.

The Canadian and Haitian goalkeepers made four saves apiece, with Haiti growing into the game but neither side able to break the deadlock.

Later, El Salvador came from behind to share the spoils with Honduras.

Douglas Martínez opened the scoring with a diving header shortly after the second half began, but an error from Honduras shot-stopper Alex Barrios allowed Marvin Márquez to bundle home an El Salvador equaliser.

The results leave Canada and Honduras on four points - and the latter top of Group B on goal difference - ahead of squaring off in the final round of games.

Haiti and El Salvador each have a point and must win their final match to stand a chance of progressing.

The top two team teams in Group B will advance to the semi-finals, where Mexico and the United States await.

The winners of the semi-finals will advance to Tokyo 2020.

A draw between Canada and Honduras would be enough for both to reach the semi-finals, and Group B will conclude on Thursday (Match 25).

The CONCACAF berths are the last two places at the men's Olympic football tournament yet to be decided.
