Viktoriia Lazarenko, representing the Russian Ski Federation, won gold in the dual moguls at the Freestyle Ski Junior World Championships in Krasnoyarsk, with Japan’s Haruka Nakao taking silver.

Lazarenko’s compatriot Anastasiia Smirnova took bronze ahead of Japan’s Anri Kawamura, who beat Lazarenko to the individual moguls title earlier in the week at the Sopka Cluster venue where the Siberian city successfully staged the 2019 Winter Universiade.

Japan’s Shima Kawaoka took gold in the men’s dual moguls ahead of home athlete Artem Shuldyakov, who earned a second silver to sit alongside the one he claimed in yesterday’s individual moguls.

In a battle for bronze between two other home athletes, Vyacheslav Novikov earned the honours ahead of Mikhail Aleynikov.

Earlier in the day in this International Ski Federation event, Matej Svancer, who won the men’s freeski slopestyle title yesterday, topped qualifying for tomorrow’s freeski Big Air final.

The 16-year-old from the Czech Republic, who won the Youth Olympics freeski Big Air title in Lausanne last year, scored 89.75 points to finish clear of Estonia’s 14-year-old world freeski halfpipe champion Henry Sildaru.

The latter, who earned slopestyle bronze yesterday, totalled 85.00 to finish ahead of Italy’s Emanuele Canal, who scored 83.75.
