Russia’s Ivan Golubkov, Marta Zainullina and Vladislav Lekomtsev earned gold medals for the second successive day at the World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup in Vuokatti.

The trio secured wins in middle distance cross-country races yesterday at the Finnish venue and achieved further success in the sprint events today.

Golubkov advanced through qualification and the semi-finals of the men’s sitting event, before crossing the line first in the final.

Ukraine's Taras Rad and Russia's Danila Britik completed the podium places.

Zainullina led a Russian one-two in the women’s sitting event, finishing ahead of her team-mate Natalia Kocherova.

Germany’s Anja Wicker finished third in the final.

Russia enjoyed a clean sweep in the men’s standing competition with Lekomtsev securing his second gold medal ahead of Rushan Minnegulov and Vitalii Malyshev, who took silver and bronze, respectively.

Norway’s Vilde Nilsen was the fourth skier to win gold on successive days as she crossed the line first in the women’s standing event.

Ukraine's Liudmyla Liashenko finished as the runner-up, with Russia’s Ekaterina Rumyantseva adding bronze to her middle-distance silver medal.

The visually impaired competitions were won by Sweden’s Zebastian Modin and Austria’s Carina Edlinger.

Modin won the men’s event ahead of Russia’s Stanislav Chokhlaev and Belarus’ Yury Holub.

The women’s race saw Eglinger emerge as the winner ahead of Belarusian Svitlana Sakhanenka and Russia’s Anna Panferova.

A rest day will follow tomorrow, with long-distance races set to be held on Monday (March 22).
