Britain's Liam Pitchford, one of the top names in the men's singles, has progressed to tomorrow's quarter-finals of the World Singles Qualification Tournament as he aims to win one of the four table tennis spots at the competition for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The world number 15 won his opening match against Finland's Benedek Olah in straight games 11-3, 11-6, 11-6, 13-11 after he received a bye in the first round in Doha.
