The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has opened applications for a scholarship at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) in Sochi for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The successful candidate will be enrolled on the Master of Sport Administration (MSA) programme at the RIOU.

FISU has encouraged all National University Sports Federations (NUSFs) to submit applicants by April 30 at the latest by sending candidatures to [email protected] with the email subject "RIOU Scholarship 2021".

As well as filling out a student application form, candidates are requested to submit a formal recommendation letter from their NUSF or a continental equivalent.

A valid passport, a bachelor's certificate and proof of English language ability must be submitted too.

Only applications sent alongside all these documents and received before the deadline will be submitted to the FISU evaluation panel.

Candidates with achievements in sport and education are preferred, particularly top-level athletes who have competed at FISU events.

The RIOU can offer any candidate a place on the programme, but only one will be selected for the FISU scholarship.

South Korean Yongwoo Lee won FISU's MSA scholarship last year.
