Sweden, Spain and Israel are still top of their respective standings heading into the final day of competition at the 470 World Championship in Vilamoura in Portugal.

In the men's competition, Swedish pair Anton Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergström now hold an 11-point lead with a score of 46, having finished sixth and 10th today.

Their closest rivals, Portugal's Diogo Costa and Pedro Costa, had their worst day with 10th and 14th place finishes dropping them off the pace of the leaders, now on 57, but remaining second.

Spain's Jordi Xammar and Nicolas Rodriguez are still in third too, but had to discard their 10th result where they finished 23rd, but went on to win the 11th round, putting them on 64.

Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov of the Russian Yachting Federation are fourth with 72 points, while Greece's Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kaglialis are now fifth on 81 points after finishing fifth and third today.

British pair Luke Patience and Christian Grube won the 10th round today, moving into 13th.

Silvia Mas Depares and Patricia Cantero Reina of Spain hold a slender lead in the women's regatta following a day where they had to discard their final result.


Finishing ninth and 19th today, the Spaniards now have a net total of 67 points - three ahead of Dutch sailors Afrodite Zegers and Lobke Berkhout.

Italy's Elena Berta and Bianca Caruso had a strong day finishing seventh and fifth to close the gap to the top two, and they now sit in third on 74 points.

Reigning champions Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre of Britain have now won three races in a row following two victories today.

They recovered from a poor start in the Championship and now sit on 80 points.

France's Camille Lecointre and Aloise Retornaz had another difficult day with a best result of 11th today and now could miss out on the podium.

Finally, Israel's Gil Cohen and Noam Homri are close to claiming the mixed class title following a second place finish today and now have a net points total of 51.

Italy's Maria Vittoria Marchesini and Bruno Festo are into second, with a best finish of second with a score of 66.

Also on 66 are the duo of Freya Black and Marcus Tressler from Britain who finished fourth and sixth to move them into third.

Britain are fourth and fifth too with Amy Seabright and James Taylor on 68 and Vita Heathcote and Ryan Orr on 72.

Winners today came further down the fleet, with Nisai Hasson and Saar Tamir of Israel winning the 11th round, bringing them up to 10th, while Marina Lefort and Paco Lepoutre of France won the 10th round, putting them in 15th place overall.
