Emilien Claude cemented his status as the star of the Biathlon Junior World Championships as he claimed his third gold medal by anchoring France to victory in the junior men's relay in Obertilliach in Austria.

France enjoyed a commanding end to the Championships as they sealed a relay double, with their women's squad also topping the podium on the final day of the event.

Claude, Oscar Lombardot, Sebastien Mahon and Eric Perrot took gold in the men's relay after completing the 4x7.5 kilometres course in one hour 12min and 48.8sec.

The French quartet finished 13.3sec clear of Norway's Mats Oeverby, Simen Kvarme, Fredrik Grusd and Joergen Saeter in second.

Tomas Mikyska, Vitezskav Hornig, Jonas Marecek and Mikulas Karlik of the Czech Republic clinched bronze, more than a minute slower than the French team.

Paula Botet, Eve Bouvard, Sophie Chaveau and Camille Bened won the 4x6km women's relay, despite having to ski one penalty loop.

The French team clocked 1:08:54.3 to finish ahead of teams from Italy and Austria respectively.

Hannah Auchentaller, Beatrice Tabucchi, Gala Brunetto and Rebecca Passler were the top shooters but were forced to settle for the silver medal, while Austria's Anna Gandler, Anna Juppe, Lisa Osl and Lea Rothschopf claimed bronze.

The relay double helped France establish a healthy lead over the rest of the competing nations on the medals table.

France ended the event with 11 medals, seven of which were gold.
