Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet is among the latest speakers to be announced for Global Sports Week (GSW).

Estanguest, a three-time Olympic canoeing champion and head of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, is set to feature at GSW Paris, scheduled to run from Monday to Friday (February 1 to 5).

He has been announced as a speaker alongside other notable figures in the sporting world, such as International Olympic Committee (IOC) Olympic Games executive director Christophe Dubi.

The first GSW Paris was held as an in-person event in the French capital in February last year.

The 2021 edition is set to be in a hybrid format, mixing a digital programme and physical events in Paris, Tokyo, Beijing and Dakar.

Access for delegates will be online, but speakers will gather in the four cities, chosen as they are set to host Olympic events in the coming years.

Virtual hub events will replace those previously planned in Milan and Los Angeles.

Each hub will host a 90-minute broadcast as part of more than 30 hours of content scheduled in the main GSW Arena.

Programmes for the Global Sports Week (GSW) Village and GSW Pro zones have also been released.

Both the GSW Village and GSW Pro zones will feature a wide range of activations, workshops and masterclasses alongside the main event in the GSW Arena zone.

Highlights from the GSW Village programme include a panel on the governance of esports, a discussion on the empowerment of high performance sports organisations, and the presentation of the inaugural WFSGI and McKinsey sporting goods industry report.

The GSW Pro zone is for pro ticket holders only, and will offer a number of events for industry professionals.

This includes a session offering insight into how sports and politics interact in France, a workshop on fan engagement from sports academic Professor Simon Chadwick, and a case study on the social media growth of the Badminton World Federation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 10,000 sports leaders, athletes and activists are expected to participate across GSW in total, with the programme set to feature talks, debates, pitch contests, exclusive screenings, sports demonstrations and behind-the-scenes venue tours.

A number of speakers were already confirmed, including International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons, UNESCO assistant director general for social and human sciences Gabriela Ramos and Movement of the Enterprises of France President Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

MerConcept founder François Gabart, L'Oreal deputy chief executive Nicolas Hieronimus, General Equality Forum secretary general Delphine O, and India's Olympic shooting champion Abhinav Bindra are also on the line-up.
