New Delhi logo 3(1)November 10 - Malaysian rugby sevens player, Mohamad Amin Jamaluddin, has become the latest competitor to test positive for banned drugs at last month's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, it has been announced.

He returned an adverse analytical finding for cannabis from an in-competition test conducted on October 12 the Commowealth Games Federation (CGF) announced.

Cannabis is a prohibited substance under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.

He has accepted the findings and waived his right to having his B-sample analysed, the CWG said.

The CGF's Federation Court has ruled that Jamaluddin's participation Games in Delhi be nullified.

In accordance with the CGF's Anti-Doping Standards (ADS), the participation and results of the Malaysian team are not affected as only one member returned an anti-doping rule violation result.

The matter has now been forwarded to the International Rugby Board to see if wants to take further action.

Jamaluddin is the sixth competitor from Delhi to test positive.

They included two gold medallists - Sri Lankan boxer Manju Wanniarachchi, who won the bantamweight category, and Nigeria's Damola Osayemi, who had won the 100 metres but was stripped of the title.

Malaysia, who replaced Namibia in the Delhi Games, were totally outclassed in all their three group matches.

Ranked fourth in Asia, they were thrashed 40-0 by African champions Kenya, 61-0 by world champions Samoa and 56-0 by Papua New Guinea.

In the plate quarter-finals, they lost to Uganda 26-14.

Jamaluddin is due to compete for Malaysia at the Asian Games, which open in Guangzhou on Friday (November 12).
