The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Board has called an online Extraordinary General Assembly on February 13, with the aim of approving statute changes.

The IMMAF say the Extraordinary General Assembly will see National Federations vote on the statute amendments and approve the appointment of Swiss auditors.

The latter follows the IMMAF’s decision to relocate as a company to Switzerland last year.

"In IMMAF’s ongoing bid for improvement, we are requesting the approval of members to changes in the IMMAF Statutes to meet best practice in good governance," said Kerrith Brown, IMMAF President.

"The changes will also serve to strengthen IMMAF’s robustness as an organisation.

"Likewise, IMMAF’s move to Switzerland is set to benefit IMMAF as an organisation, opening new opportunities for its development, growth and promotion.

"We look forward to the support of IMMAF’s membership in implementing the necessary process to finalise our relocation."

The proposed statute changes follow recommendations of a recent independent, good governance audit.

Amendments will be proposed regarding the requirement for Annual General Meetings and athlete representation on the IMMAF Board.

Staggered four-year terms for a maximum of two terms for Board Directors will also be voted on.

Proposed amendments are also set to include a target for 30 per cent female representation on the Board, as well as changes to reflect the IMMAF as a Swiss entity.
