Six new members have been elected to the British Paralympic Association (BPA) Athletes' Commission, and are set to take up their posts in January.

Among them is double Paralympic sprinting champion Libby Clegg, as well as five-time Para-equestrian gold medallist Natasha Baker.

Wheelchair basketball player Gaz Choudhry, boccia's Claire Taggart, Rio 2016 tandem cycling gold medallist Helen Scott and Rio 2016 archery Paralympian Tania Nadarajah have also been voted onto the Commission.

The BPA reported that a record number of athletes participated in the voting process.

"I'm really looking forward to welcoming our six new members to the Commission and can't wait to start working together as we approach Games year, with Tokyo 2020 on the horizon," said Athletes' Commission chair Helene Raynsford.

"I was delighted to see so many Paralympians take the time to cast their vote.

"The athlete voice is something the Commission is passionate about - we want to ensure athletes are truly represented and I know our new members will step up to the challenge bringing their own individual skills, experience and enthusiasm."

The Athletes' Commission acts as an advisory group to the BPA, representing the views of athletes across a wide range of issues such as classification and campaigns.

Two additional places were added to the Athletes' Commission this year, with its membership now sitting at 12.

Raynsford, a retired rower, is one of two representatives of the sport on the body, along with Rio 2016 champion Grace Clough, who has also retied from competition.

Another Rio 2016 champion, cyclist Lora Fachie, is already part of the Athletes' Commission.

Canoeist and former swimmer Charlotte Henshaw, Paralympic silver medallist powerlifter Ali Jawad and retired Winter Paralympian Sean Rose are the other existing members.

Triathlon's Claire Cashmore, equestrian's Sophie Christiansen, judo's Ben Quilter and athletics' Stef Reid have all stepped down from their positions.
