Sergey Semenov, Musa Evloev, Milad Alirzaev and Zhambolat Lokyaev all won their weight categories, with Kyrgyzstan's Zholaman Sharshenbekov the day's only non-Russian gold medallist.

Sharshenbekov, a world silver medallist in 2019, beat Russia's ex-63-kilogram world champion Stepan Maryanyan in the 60kg final.

Lokyaev won the 63kg title, beating Hungarian Erik Torba 4-1 in the final.

Alirzaev triumphed emphatically at 82kg over Salih Aydin of Turkey, winning 11-0, while Osman Yildirim fell to Semenov in the 130kg final in another Russia-versus-Turkey affair.

Hungarian Alex Szőke was the opponent beaten by Evloev in the 97kg final.

Russia's final Greco-Roman team score was 217 points, with Hungary second on 103 and Turkey in third with 87.

The UWW Individual World Cup is taking place in lieu of the World Championships, which the Serbian capital was due to host before they were called off because of the coronavirus pandemic reducing the number of leading nations prepared to send a team.

Women's freestyle contests also began today, with the finals and bronze-medal matches decided across the 50kg, 53kg, 55kg, 62kg and 72kg divisions.

Aisuluu Tynybekova, Kyrgyzstan's first wrestler to win a senior world title, was typically dominant and will face Latvia's Anastasija Grigorjeva, a three-time European champion, in the 62kg final.

Tynybekova won 10-0, 10-0 and 13-2 to reach the final.

Russian Ekaterina Poleshchuk, a reigning world bronze medallist, is another in with a chance of winning a gold medal, and will face Liliia Malanchuk of Ukraine in the 50kg finale.
