The World ParaVolley Foundation has launched a campaign to raise $10,000 (£7,600/€8,300) to help develop the sport and provide new opportunities to athletes.

It is planned for donations to help the sport develop in five key areas.

These are emerging countries, anti-doping and research, women in sport, development of member nations, and volunteer development.

The World ParaVolley Foundation was set up in February 2018 with an initial focus of organising fundraising activities in the United States.

As a not-for-profit organisation, it now provides services for athletes with a physical impairment around the world.

Those interested are asked to donate through PayPal.

"It is through the support of our many individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations and programme partners that we are able to make an impact in the dreams of our members, no matter how small or big," a statement from the World ParaVolley Foundation said.

"All donations will be used to fund World ParaVolley’s grassroots sport development programmes.

"We thank you for fuelling the dreams of our athletes."
