Felix Loch earned his second successive win in the men's singles at the International Luge Federation (FIL) World Cup event in Altenberg.

The German had triumphed in the men's singles and team relay competition at the season-opening leg last week in Innsbruck.

He was victorious again after recording runs of 55.655sec and 54.740 in the men's singles, producing a total time of 1min 50.395sec.

It was also Loch's 10th World Cup victory at the Altenberg course.

"I simply like this track," the two-time Olympic champion in men's singles said.

"It has a cool character with many passages where you can just let the sled run."

Compatriot Max Langenhan was second with 1:50.698, while Latvia's Kristers Aparjods finished third in 1:50.701.

An Italian quartet of Andrea Voetter, Kevin Fischnaller, Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner were the victors in the team relay contest, finishing with a total time of 2:25.794.

Russia's Tatyana Ivanova, Semen Pavlichenko, Aleksandr Denisev and Vladislav Antonov managed 2:26.024 to take second place.

Aparjods and his sister Kendija joined forces with Andris and Juris Sics to claim bronze for Latvia in 2:26.378.

Loch finished fourth with German teammates Natalie Geisenberger, Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken.

The FIL Luge World Cup is scheduled to continue in Oberhof in Germany on December 12 and 13.
