Slovakia's Petra Vlhová will attempt to record a fourth straight win of the 2020-2021 International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup season in St Moritz in Switzerland, which is set for back-to-back super-G races.

Vlhová is the only skier to make the podium in each of the four World Cup races so far this season, and followed up a third-place finish in the opening race with three wins.

The wins came in slalom and parallel giant slalom contests.

The St Moritz super-G races, scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday (December 6), will be the first of the season.

American Mikaela Shiffrin will not be racing, according to NBC Sports, after the three-time overall World Cup champion decided to focus on her preferred events of slalom and giant slalom in the early season.

Shiffrin was the runner-up behind Vlhová in the first of two World Cup races in Levi in Finland last month following a 300-day absence from racing.

Italy's Sofia Goggia is expected to be one of the biggest threats to Vlhová having won the super-G race in St Moritz last season.

Another Italian, reigning overall World Cup champion Federica Brignone, is another skier to watch out for and was second in last season's super-G standings.

Swiss Corinne Suter, who is set to compete on home snow tomorrow, led last season's super-G standings.

Suter is yet to finish a World Cup race this season, whereas compatriot Michelle Gisin is second in the overall standings.

Nine women's FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races are scheduled this month, beginning tomorrow.
