Czech Republic has been awarded the 2022 edition of the Under-23 Men's Softball European Championship.

The competition in Sezimovo Usti will act as a qualifier for the 2023 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Under-23 Men's Softball World Cup.

It is planned as the first edition of the tournament and is scheduled to take place from July 4 to 9 in 2022, with the Czech Softball Association acting as hosts.

Sezimovo Usti is approximately 83 kilometres south of Prague and will also organise the 2023 Under-18 and Under-16 Men's Softball European Championships.

The 2023 edition of the Under-23 Men's Softball World Cup will be the second following the inaugural tournament, which is currently scheduled to be held in Argentina in 2021.

Havlickuv Brod, the co-host of the 2019 WBSC Men's Softball World Championship in the Czech Republic, will stage the European qualifying tournament for the 2021 Under-23 Men's Softball World Cup.

To date, a host for the 2023 tournament is yet to be announced.

Other 2022 events on the European calendar include the Women's Softball European Championship, scheduled to take place in Sant Boi in Spain.
