The governing body said the special committee includes IBSF vice-president Darrian Steele and representatives from national federations with two votes at the IBSF Congress.

This includes Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Britain, Latvia, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States.

Spain has also been included as a member of the Special Calendar Committee, representing nations with one vote in the Congress.

One vote at the IBSF Congress is given to members whose athletes have competed in at least two of the Olympic IBSF disciplines in the last two years and in 10 or more races.

An additional vote is given to nations that have hosted a race in the previous season or whose athletes have competed in at least five races in all Olympic disciplines over the previous four years.

Steele will be joined on the Special Calendar Committee by Austria’s Franz Huber, France’s Alexandre Vanhoutte, Britain’s Marc Heywood, Germany’s Thomas Schwab and South Korea’s Lee Kang-min.

Latvia’s Zintis Ekmanis, Norway’s Åshild Høva Sporsheim, Russia’s Sergey Parkhomenko, Switzerland’s Peter Schadegg, American Aron McGuire and Ander Mirambell of Spain are also confirmed members.

Canada’s Chris Lebihan is listed as a member, but the IBSF says it is still awaiting confirmation.

The panel's chair is yet to be confirmed.

Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton (BCS) had raised the issue of the Calendar Committee at the IBSF virtual Congress, which was held last month.

The BCS had called for the discussion around the “IBSF’s failure to implement… the establishment of the special advisory Calendar Committee".

The national body had put forward the motion after claiming the IBSF Executive Committee had "failed to implement" the re-establishment of the Calendar Committee despite it being approved at the previous Congress.

The Special Calendar Committee is aimed at ensuring IBSF members can contribute to the development of international calendars, the world governing body claims.
