Cali Condors have soared into a commanding lead in the fourth match of the International Swimming League (ISL) season, with double Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel leading the way.

Dressel won the men's 50 metres freestyle and 100m butterfly races, came third in the 50m butterfly and also contributed to first- and third-place finishes for his team in two relays on an all-action day in Budapest.

The American has 39 ranking points after 20 of the match's 39 races, more than any other swimmer.

The Californian team won 13 of those 20 races, including a blistering start which saw them win six of the opening eight contests.

Lilly King was another of the side's standout performers, winning both the women's 200m and 50m breaststroke contests and helping the 4x100m medley relay team to victory.

Like Dressel, King won two relay gold medals for the United States at Rio 2016.

Cali Condors ended the day on 321.5 points, boasting a lead of more than 100.

New York Breakers have 210, with German Marco Koch their highest scorer.

Koch secured a jackpot win in the men's 200m breaststroke, collecting 30 points as only one swimmer - runner-up Tommy Cope of the US and DC Tridents - was within five seconds of his time of 2min 0.81sec.

Those Tridents are in last place on 146.5 points, with Iron third on 199.

The match continues tomorrow.

Victory would take Cali top of the ISL standings.

The entire ISL season is taking place in Hungarian capital Budapest due to the coronavirus pandemic.
