Organisers of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou have released the official sport pictograms for the event.

Hangzhou 2022 said the pictograms for the 40 sports and 59 disciplines due to be contested at the Games had been developed by the same team that designed the "Tides Surging" emblem.

They were released to coincide with the two-years-to-go milestone until the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games are scheduled to open.

The pictograms are set to appear at competitions, as well as on venue signs, promotional material, broadcasts of the event and souvenirs.

Hangzhou 2022 has also launched a global process to find the slogan for the volunteers at the Games.

According to China's official state news agency Xinhua, applicants can submit their entries online, by post or in person at the Hangzhou 2022 Organising Committee headquarters.

Hangzhou 2022 is due to begin recruiting volunteers for the next Asian Games in the summer of 2021.

Organisers said recruitment will be conducted online with applicants encouraged to follow the official website, WeChat account and Weibo account for the latest information.

A general selection will be made after people have registered online.

Volunteers will be assigned to different positions at the Games in the Chinese city, with successful candidates required to undergo training.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old by September 1 in 2022 and speak Chinese or English fluently.
