Switzerland and Portugal maintained their unbeaten runs in the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal with tomorrow's clash between the sides set to decide who finishes top of the standings in Nazaré.

One issue that Switzerland will need to sort ahead of the Portugal match is a leaky defence, having won 8-6 against Germany in the Portuguese resort on the Silver Coast.

Today's match made it 10 goals conceded for the Swiss who will hope to rely on their deadly attack to defeat the hosts, having scored 22 in three matches.

Germany looked to upset the in-form side and Christian Biermann gave his team a moment of hope, but Angelo Wuest equalised a minute later.

Switzerland took what would turn out to be an insurmountable lead after a quickfire three goals in five matches to make it 4-1, then increasing it to 6-2 after Glenn Hodel scored his second.

Yet, Germany were not to give up and brought the match back to 6-5, only for a second goal from Wuest and Hodel completing his hat-trick put the game beyond doubt despite Valon Beqiri getting his treble for Germany late in the match.

Germany's defeat ensured they finished bottom, despite coming close to winning in three of their matches.

But back at the top were hosts Portugal, who faced the formidable Ukraine in the late match.

Yet, there was an early upset potentially on the cards with Ukraine taking an early lead and Portugal taking until the second period to take a 2-1 lead.

A penalty late in the second period helped Portugal get a third, giving them a cushion heading into the final stages of the game.

Ukraine pegged it back to 3-2, but Portugal got back their two-goal lead with just over five minutes to go.

Both sides are now due to meet in the late game tomorrow to conclude the tournament, with Ukraine facing France in the early match.
