It was a remarkable achievement from the Asian Para Games champion who weighed in at 0.3kg overweight for the contest but took drastic action to make the legal weight, which included cutting her hair.

But despite thinking that she had broken the world record, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) confirmed to insideworldparasport that it would not stand due to the refereeing technicality.

However, Zhe holds on to her gold, while Guangdong's Chen Meijiao keeps the silver and Guo Lingling of Hebei the bronze.

Zhe though, will take heart from the stunning performance and remains a strong gold medal contender at the London 2012 Paralympic Games where 200 competitions made up of 120 men and 80 women compete across 20 medal events at the ExCeL in London's Docklands.
