France's Axel Mazella recorded four wins from four on the second day of the International Kiteboarding Association Formula Kite European Individual Championships to move top of the men's standings.

Mazella led his group through rounds five to eight and so far has only failed to finish first in one race, when he came second.

His perfect day saw him break clear of compatriot Theo de Ramecourt, who led the men's field yesterday but was disqualified on the final run today,

De Ramecourt currently sits on eight points, two behind Mazella's six, after winning only one race on day two.

The top three is currently occupied exclusively by French kiteboarders due to the efforts of Maxime Nocher, who won two races today and was second and third in the other two.

Slovenia's Toni Vodisek built on a mixed first day to move fourth on 13 points, finishing first in race six to deny De Ramecourt and Nocher.

Nico Parlier made it four Frenchmen in the top five and also has 13 points.

Germany's Florian Gruber ended his run of seven consecutive top-three finishes when he finished fourth in race eight and now sits sixth on 15 points.

There is a 10-point gap to seventh place.

In the women's event, Polish teenagers Julia Damasiewicz and Magdalena Woyciechowska maintained their one-two from day one in what is now looking like a two-horse race at the front.

Damasiewicz only added one more win today, but was consistent, with three second-place finishes, to move a point ahead on nine.

Woychiechowska had a day where she discarded two of her results after a low sixth in race eight, as well as finishing third in race five.

She otherwise came first and third and ended the day on 10 points.

The four women's races were won by four separate kiteboarders, with third-placed Ellie Aldridge of Britain winning race seven.

Aldridge sits on 17 points after eight races, ahead of Germany's Leonie Meyer, who won race eight and finished second in race five.

Meyer has 23 points.

French pair Lauriane Nolot and Alexia Fancelli were consistent to stay in the top six, but Poland's youngster Nina Arcisz had a day to forget as she dropped to seventh overall.

The medal races for the top 14 men's and women's athletes will take place on Sunday (August 23) in Puck in Poland.
