The Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) has launched a new athlete and fan lifestyle brand.

The "Magyarock" brand sees the MOB follow organisations such as the British Olympic Association and German Olympic Sports Confederation, which have dedicated brands for athletes and for their respective institutions.

New social media channels, a YouTube page and a website have also been created following the launch of Magyarock, a nod to "Magyarok", which translates as Hungarian in the native language.

The MOB said the brand had been three years in the making and had been approved by the International Olympic Committee.

"I have been in service of the Olympic Movement my whole life, be it as a fencer or sports leader and now as President of the MOB," said MOB President Krisztián Kulcsár, re-elected to the position in June.

"This new brand is very close to my heart so I look forward with great pleasure to working on this brand and around these values."

Official merchandise with the "Magyarok" brand is set to be made available for purchase later this year, the MOB added.
