Three Para-athletes, including triple Paralympic champion Théo Gmür, have been nominated for the Swiss Diversity Award.

The award "celebrates and honors the diversity in Switzerland, where people of different ethnicities, religions, physical limitations, gender or sexual orientations live".

It is aimed at both reflecting the diversity of Switzerland and being a useful networking event.

Alpine skier Gmür won three gold medals at Pyeogchang 2018, in the downhill, super-G and giant slalom standing categories.

The other two nominees are tack and field athletes - Abassia Rahmani and Fabian Blum.

Rahmani is the women's T62 European champion over 200 metres and finished fourth in the T44 200m at Rio 2016 under the old classification system.

"I am honored to have been nominated," Rahmani said.

"It is a fulfilling feeling when my achievements as an athlete are recognised."

Blum is also a European medallist, having earned a bronze in the T52 1,500m in 2018.

The Swiss Diversity Award ceremony is due to take place at the Kursaal Bern conference centre on September 5, where 22 nominees will be honoured across eight categories.
