Erdenechuluun Ganbaatar, MESA President, is hopeful this development will aid the organisation in nurturing young talent.

"Based on the fact that it has been a little over 25 years since Mongolians got introduced into video gaming, it is hard to believe but imaginable enough how fresh we are in the industry," Erdenechuluun said.

"In the early years of our operation, we used to receive a variety of reactions from our community. 

"Fortunately, things have changed now.

"Our athletes have already started creating a successful path for themselves and for future esports athletes. 

"We, Mongolian Esports Association, aim to fuel the athletes in their professional path and develop talents who build and support the ecosystem of esports."

MESA has staged in excess of 20 events, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 said to be among Mongolia's most popular titles.

The AESF is recognised by the Olympic Council of Asia, with esports set to be a medal event at the 2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi.

It was a demonstration sport at the Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games.

The International Esports Federation additionally recognises and acknowledges the AESF as Asia's sole esports federation after the pair entered into a collaborative agreement earlier this year.
