colin_jackson_workplace_games_30-08-11August 30 - Adecco, the London 2012 Official Recruitment Services Provider, has officially launched its Workplace Games campaign, which is encouraging Britain's workforce to get into the Olympic and Paralympic spirit by challenging colleagues to take part in workplace-based sporting endeavours.

The campaign - fronted by Olympic 110 metre hurdling silver medallist Colin Jackson - will see workers filming themselves as they hurdle desks, devise assault courses and take part in office chair curling up and down the country.

Each video posted to Adecco's Facebook page will earn £20 ($33) for ParalympicsGB with the best videos winning tickets to see Olympic events in 2012.

"I was really happy to get behind this campaign," said Jackson, whose world record of 12.91sec for the 110m hurdles stood for over a decade.

"It will not only raise valuable funds for an incredibly worthy cause but also means that Britain's workers can take a short break to test their legs and lungs, which is more than fine by me.

"British people are well known for their work ethic so I have no doubt that they can successfully channel that energy into taking part in the Workplace Games.

"I had great fun with the Adecco guys filming our efforts and hope that workers all over the UK will do the same."

Adecco_Workplace_Games_posterWhether it is the classic sport of office chair rowing, boardroom table tennis or paper plane javelin, Adecco is calling for great creative concepts to be filmed for the nation's amusement.

With videos uploaded online, viewers will have the chance to vote for their favourite, and share them with friends.

At the end of the campaign, a shortlist of the five top videos will be created from which the final winner will be selected by an Adecco judging.

The winner will receive tickets to London 2012.

"As a key London 2012 sponsor and the Official Recruitment Services Provider for London 2012, we wanted to launch a campaign that everyone could get behind in a way that was natural for us," said Andy Powell, marketing director at Adecco.

"As the world's biggest recruiter we know a thing or two about work, and the positive impact that bringing some fun and competitive spirit into the workplace can have.

"That's exactly what The Workplace Games campaign is all about, along with celebrating everything that will make London 2012 great and raising much needed funds for ParalympicsGB."

Retired Paralympic star Danny Crates, who claimed Paralympic, European and World Championship gold in a glittering career, has also lent his backing to the campaign.

"I'll be visiting workplaces in the next few weeks to take on employees in different challenges and get people involved, raising as much cash as possible in the process," he said.

"ParalympicsGB plays a crucial role in supporting all of Britain's Paralympian athletes to make sure they have the best possible preparation for 2012 and raising funds through the Workplace Games is a great, fun way to boost donations and help them to achieve their goals."
