Duenas came out on top of the recurve version of the World Archery-organised remote tournament, which featured eight of the world's top archers.

"I'm super happy, it's been a long time since I've done competition and felt this kind of pressure," Duenas said afterwards.

"I was able to pull it back in the fourth set and shoot a comfortable 30.

"Congratulations to Aida for really great shooting in this final."

The last set of the final saw both archers pull off 30-point hits with Duenas, the reigning Pan American Games champion, shooting three consecutive arrows worth 10 points.

Roman responded with two nines and opted to go for the white dot, worth 12 points, to level the score.

"I was very happy to shoot it in my first try, live and in-competition as during practice it was very difficult to do it," Roman said of hitting the white dot.

"The circle is very small, so I was very happy to shoot it in my first attempt."

However, overall the Mexican struggled to keep up with Duenas' accurate scoring.

The Canadian recorded four perfect sets on his way to victory, taking home the top prize of CHF1,000 (£849/$1,053/€938).

He added: "I was really happy to be named to the four men selected in the world to do this, so once I learned that I was going to be doing this, a little bit more focus went back into 18 metres and I'm very happy with how I shot."

It follows the inaugural Lockdown Knockout tournament, held for compound archers in May, which Sara López of Colombia won.
