Baseball for the blind in France has received a boost after two organisations in the country signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The French Baseball Softball Federation (FFBS) has penned an agreement with the French Baseball for the Blind Association (ABBF) to help the development of the sport in the nation.

Under the terms of the MoU, the FFBS will strengthen its involvement in the training of baseball for the blind coaches.

It is also set to work to develop competitions and teams, with the goal of participating in international events.

"This MoU opens the way for a better recognition for baseball for the blind in France," said FFBS President Didier Seminet.

The ABBF will continue to promote the discipline in France, while sourcing partnerships with clubs, hospitals and schools.

"This agreement represents a step forward for all of us," said ABBF President Tom Nagel, who also chairs the World Baseball Softball Confederation Paralympic Commission.

"The FFBS is a model to follow for other National Federations."
