The International Floorball Federation (IFF) has received 55 applications from 30 different countries to help provide children with floorball equipment.

The initiative "IFF Kids with Sticks" aims to give more youngsters the tools to play the game, as the IFF looks to boost the popularity of the sport worldwide.

It will donate around 200 sticks, as well as balls and goalkeeper equipment sets.

The IFF invited all floorball member associations, clubs and other organisations to apply for the support package, with successful applicants receiving a portion of the equipment for their use.

After the deadline passed on May 6, the IFF stated that it would not take into consideration any applicants after that date.

Other recent initiatives by the IFF include focusing on sustainability and drinking water for the 2020 Men's World Floorball Championships, scheduled to take place in December in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

The selection process for the IFF Kids with Sticks campaign will be published next week on the IFF website.
