Chris Neilson has left his role as International Hockey Federation (FIH) television and broadcast director to take up a position at World Bowling.

Neilson will now be the business development and innovation director at World Bowling.

He was at FIH for three years, starting as the governing body's media rights manager.

Neilson had previously worked in various rights and acquisitions, programming and scheduling roles in the United Kingdom's broadcast sector.

He will be reunited with Andrew Oram, who formerly held the role of FIH television and broadcast director and was named the permanent World Bowling chief executive six months ago.

Kuwait's Sheikh Talal Mohammed Al-Sabah was re-elected for a second term as World Bowling President at the same time.

Bowling featured as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul but failed with a bid to be added to the full programme for Tokyo 2020.

It was also overlooked earlier this year for Paris 2024.

Bowling is, however, part of the Asian and Pan American Games and the World Games.

World Bowling currently has 113 members in five continents.
