The World Squash Federation has announced a restructuring of its commercial activities after Howard Harding stood down as world media director

The World Squash Federation (WSF) has announced a restructuring of its commercial activities, with the Professional Squash Association (PSA) now overseeing its public relations activities.

The PSA started to oversee public relations for the WSF yesterday, as part of increased collaborations between the bodies to further grow the profile of squash.

As part of the closer working relationship between the two bodies, the PSA is also assisting with the promotion of major WSF tournaments across the globe and the WSF's own digital channels.

The new arrangement was put in place following the retirement of Howard Harding, the WSF's world media director.

“I would like to thank Howard most sincerely for his unwavering commitment to the promotion of the World Squash Federation over the years," said WSF Chief Executive William Louis-Marie.

"He has epitomised the communications of our sport, its players and different stakeholders with the sole purpose to enhance the sport he has cherished.

“Communications have become more and more critical for any international sporting organisation and I’m greatly delighted to join forces with PSA to benefit from their highly recognised expertise, enhance the communication and marketing of WSF activities and better promote the stories of our National Federation members."

Harding, 74, said he felt it was "the right time" to stand down from his role at the WSF and said he was looking forward to developing his new website www.squashinfo.com which focuses on historical statistics relating to the sport's events and players.

"As a passionate lover of squash, the media role at the WSF was always a dream job and I am proud of the contribution I have made over the 23 plus years in trying to keep news of the sport in the forefront of the world’s media," said Harding.

“As I approach my 75th birthday, and with a new regime at the WSF, I feel it’s time to stand down from the role.

“I look forward to being able to devote my squash energies full-time into further developing my website."
