Bowls Australia have begun a review to find the optimal governance and administration model for the organisation.

The review is a key project in the Bowls Australia 2018-2022 strategic plan.

A detailed outline of the advantages and disadvantages of the current governance and administrative structures and systems will be provided, alongside recommendations on the best governance and administration structures.

Key issues will be identified, followed by the creation of an action plan for implementation of the recommended models.

Such a review aims to improve revenue opportunities for the sport, allow more investment into marketing and participation, help clubs become more sustainable and improve participant experience.

With the financial help of Sport Australia, Bowls Australia appointed Sport Business Partners as independent consultants for the review.

A working group has also been formed, with Bowls Australia director Bob Boorman as chair.

A final report is expected in June.
