The Austria-based International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) has been declared compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirmed it had removed the organisation - which is separate from World Taekwondo, the Olympic governing body for the sport - from the list of signatories which are non-compliant with the Code.

WADA declared the ITF non-compliant in October after it failed to submit its Code Compliance Questionnaire.

In a statement, WADA said it had now received the questionnaire from the ITF.

"A corrective action report will be issued shortly by WADA following the review of the responses provided in the questionnaire and the federation will be advised that continued cooperation will be required in order to maintain its compliant status," WADA said.

The ITF is a signatory to the Code but is not recognised by either the International Olympic Committee or the Global Association of International Sports Federations.

It is one of three code signatories for the sport of taekwondo, joining World Taekwondo and the South Korea-based International Taekwon-Do Federation.

The two federations called International Taekwondo Federation became signatories to the Code prior to the adoption by WADA’s Executive Committee of a policy setting the conditions to be fulfilled by new organisations that wish to become signatories.
