FIS have launched a special feature on their mobile gaming app ©FIS

With the cancellation of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup Finals, FIS have launched a special event on their mobile game, FIS Ski Racing to fill the void.

Until March 22, FIS Ski Racing will have a special feature on their app - the first ever FIS Alpine World Cup e-Finals.

The app is free to download and allows players to compete for free in the finals too with the overall winners getting a prize of a pair of VIP tickets to the 2021 FIS World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy.

The cancelled FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Finals were also set to take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo before the outbreak of COVID-19, a form of coronavirus.

So far the app has been played in 87 countries with Switzerland, the United States and Italy being the most popular nations to play the game with 40 per cent of the audience between them.

Individual discipline winners will also receive a pair of skis from HEAD, Atomic or Fischer or poles from LEKI, plus the FIS will give away five pairs of tickets for the Championships next year too.

All in-game revenue made from buying extra features will be donated to coronavirus efforts in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
