A number of sponsors have signed-up to support the rearranged Asia-Oceania Olympic boxing qualifier for Tokyo 2020 in Amman.

Drinks giant Coca-Cola, a worldwide Olympic partner, are among the companies backing the event in the Jordanian capital.

They are joined by Societe Generale De Banque Jordan, mobile phone company Zain Jordan, sports equipment group Taishan, courier firm Aramex and sports bar chain Buffalo Wings and Rings.

Jordan has had limited time to prepare for the event after it was moved from Chinese city Wuhan due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Competition will take place at Prince Hamzah Hall between March 3 and 11.

"We have been short on time but huge on effort to ensure that this event meets the extremely high standards of the Olympic family," said Nasser Majali, the secretary general of the Jordan Olympic Committee and the chief executive of the Organising Committee.

"We are pleased with our progress and look forward to welcoming our friends from around the world to Amman over the coming days.

"The support that we have received from the business community has been particularly heartening and provides us with the helping hand required to host a world-class event."

Forty countries are expected to be represented at the qualifier, with 41 men's and 22 women's berths up for grabs at the Olympics.

Amman was chosen by the International Olympic Committee's Boxing Taskforce which is in charge of the Tokyo 2020 competitions after the International Boxing Association was suspended as the governing body for the sport in May.

Coronavirus originated in Wuhan, which has been quarantined to try and contain the outbreak.

A large number of sporting events have either been cancelled or postponed.

Nearly 80,000 cases have now been confirmed, as well as more than 2,600 deaths.

The vast majority of patients are in China itself.

Amman will also be hosting the Asian Olympic taekwondo qualifier after this was moved from Chinese city Wuxi.
