The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has signed a sponsorship deal focused on Tokyo 2020 with foam manufacturing company Ashfoam.

As part of the agreement, Ashfoam has provided $20,000 (£15,400/€18,400) to the GOC to help with Ghana's preparations for this year's Olympic Games.

Ashfoam, one of the biggest foam producers in West Africa, will also supply clothing including tracksuits, t-shirts and caps to the Ghanaian team which is set to compete at Tokyo 2020.

GOC marketing and public affairs officer Nana Yaw Ampem Darko Antwi signed the deal at Olympic House in Accra.

"We believe in youth development and continue to support the Ghanaian youth to excel in every field of their career, whether through sports, education and other forms of career choices," said Antwi.

GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah thanked Ashfoam for their support of the Ghanaian Olympic team and reiterated a call for other companies in the country to back the nation at the Games.

Members of the GOC Executive Board were also present at the signing ceremony.
