The Danish men's team are seven-times defending champions, while Denmark's women have won five of the tournament's seven editions including the last three.

The women's matches were played first at the Arena Stade Couvert in Liévin and the Danes faced Turkey, who like them had not dropped an individual match so far in the tournament.

Things started brightly for Turkey, with Neslihan Yiğit taking the first game versus Mia Blichfeldt, but it was the only game they would win in the entire match as Blichfeldt fought back to win 20-22, 23-21, 21-12.

Julie Dawall Jakobsen beat Aliye Demirbağ 21-18, 21-17 before Line Christophersen saw off Özge Bayrak 21-18, 21-15 to book Denmark's place in the last four.

Scotland and Germany also enjoyed 3-0 victories, respectively knocking out Russia and Hungary.

France's quarter-final was the only one that needed a doubles match; when it came, Delphine Delrue and Anne Tran saw off Sweden's Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson in straight games to secure a 3-1 French win and a place in the semi-finals.

In the men's competition, the pick of the quarter-finals was between England and The Netherlands. 

It came down to the final game of the final match, with the tie level at two matches apiece and the Dutch duo of Ruben Jille and Ties van der Lecq and England's Tom Wolfenden and Harry Huang sharing the first two games. 

The Dutch pairing came out on top, taking an all-important 21-14, 18-21, 21-12 win to secure an overall 3-2 win for The Netherlands.

France dispatched Ukraine 3-0 and Denmark beat Germany by the same scoreline, while Russia defeated surprise quarter-finalists Bulgaria 3-1.

Tomorrow's men's semi-finals will see Denmark collide with Russia and The Netherlands play France.

Before that, Denmark and France meet in the women's semi-finals and Germany take on Scotland in the other last-four encounter.
