The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) have teamed up with Chinese sports content and marketing company LD Sports for three of its World Tour events this year.
They are set to be the major partner for the Qatar Open in Doha from March 3 to 8, the Korea Open in Busan from June 16 to 21 and the Australian Open in Geelong from June 23 to 28.
The deal gives them exclusivity in sports consulting services at the three events, part of the larger World Tour.
Founded in 2015, one of LD Sports main roles is supporting promising children in their sporting careers.
"Table Tennis is China’s national sport," said Liu Zhiqiang, general manager of LD Sports.
"Many of our top players bring glory for our country on the international stage."
Liu added: "We are keen to serve as the bridge for developing China’s rich sporting heritage and to convey the country’s fighting spirit.
"As a renowned international federation, the ITTF is very dedicated to promoting table tennis across the world and LD Sports, as a famous sports brand, is experienced in youth training and sports promotion."
The company already sponsors two football clubs in two of the top leagues in the world - Southampton in the English Premier League and Espanyol in La Liga.
The Spanish side reportedly cancelled ties with the tourism board of Riviera Maya as their shirt sponsor two years into a six-year deal to switch to LD Sports.
"We are very happy to welcome LD Sports, a Chinese company with a global presence, onto the international stage of table tennis through the ITTF World Tour," Kimberly Koh, head of sponsorship at the ITTF, said.
"The Qatar Open, Australia Open and Korea Open will feature intense competition as all the top Chinese and international players will attend, and we look forward to a very successful cooperation."
