Poland celebrate their qualification for the men's World Floorball Championships after victory against Estonia ©IFF

Poland reached the men's World Floorball Championships with a dramatic overtime win over Estonia on the final day of European qualifiers.

With qualification to the Championships already secured for the top two in Europe zone one, Poland faced Estonia for third place and the final qualifying spot from that zone.

The Poles triumphed 5-4 at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn in Denmark, coming from behind to send the match to overtime and seal victory.

The Estonians were without Kasper Kallion for the crucial match after he was suspended by the International Floorball Federation (IFF) following an incident in Saturday's match against Iceland.

According to the IFF, Kallion 'made contact with an opponent’s head in a manner that was deemed dangerous and reckless.'

He was suspended for just the one match with the IFF confirming no further action would be taken.

In the Euro One Final, Sweden convincingly beat Denmark 10-2 but both countries had already secured their berths at the main event, to be held in Helsinki in Finland in December.

In the other classification matches, Slovenia beat Iceland 10-7 to finish fifth while Ukraine edged out Great Britain 8-7 to finish seventh.

In Europe zone two, held at the Arena Poprad in Poprad in Slovakia the same format applied, with the winners of the third place playoff securing the final berth from that zone at the main Championships.

Norway beat Russia 8-5 to ensure qualification from that zone along with Switzerland and Slovakia who contested the Euro Two Final, with the Swiss winning emphatically 16-3.

In the other classification matches in the zone, Hungary beat Belgium 9-4 to finish fifth while the Ivory Coast hammered Italy 25-2 to finish seventh.

The final matches in the Euro Three zone took place yesterday with Germany, Czech Republic and Latvia all qualifying.
