The 22-year-old, who has now won nine of this season's 11 FIS Nordic Combined World Cup events, triumphed in a time of 11 min 35.5 sec in the Austrian village.

Germany's Vinzenz Geiger finished second in 12:19.8, while Norway's Jørgen Gråbak rounded off the podium in 12:20.0.

Riiber has further extended his lead in the overall standings to a massive 359 points.

He sits on 1,010 points to nearest challenger Gråbak's 651.

Geiger, the winner of the two events that did not go Riiber's way this season, is third with 635 points.

All 50 remaining athletes now take their results with them, in the form of minus points, for tomorrow's ski jumping round and then ski 10km.

Again, all athletes take their results with them to day three, but only the best 40 athletes will be allowed to start. 

They will complete only one jump and ski a final race of 15km. 

Whoever crosses the finish line first is the Triple winner.
