Tokyo 2020 has signed up fitness and sports equipment company Technogym as an official supporter.

The agreement brings the number of domestic partners for this year's Olympics and Paralympics to 67.

Technogym will be a partner in the fitness equipment category and will provide their products to competition and training venues.

They have already supplied seven previous Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"We are delighted to welcome Technogym as an official supporter supplying fitness equipment," said Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori.

"Technogym has been providing fitness equipment to training and competition venues in previous Games, enabling athletes to prepare and achieve their best performances at the Games.

"Together with Technogym, we are creating an environment where athletes can perform at their best at the Tokyo 2020 Games."

Official supporter is the third level of the Tokyo 2020 sponsorship scheme, below gold partner and official partner.

"We are very proud to be an official supporter for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020," said Nerio Alessandri, the President and founder of Technogym.

"At Technogym we work every day to create the most innovative products to support the athletes in reaching their goals.

"This important achievement represents a victory for the whole Technogym team."

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will run between July 24 and August 9, with the Paralympics following between August 25 and September 6.

Organisers have so far raised in excess of $3 billion (£2.3 billion/€2.6 billion) in domestic sponsorship.
