The Italian city of Milan is set to welcome 24 teams for next month's FIFA eClub World Cup.

The tournament was originally set to be held in London's Sky Sport Studios, but will now take place in Milan from February 7 to 9.

Twenty-four teams will be competing after making it through a grueling five-round qualification stage featuring 190 teams.

Italian sides Mkers, AS Roma and Team QLASH will battle it out against 21 other outfits from all over the world, including organisations and clubs from Mexico, Germany, England, Spain, France, Japan and the United States.

The inaugural competition took place in 2017 with Brondby IF securing first place and repeating their success one year later, while King eSports became champion at last season’s event.

A new champion is set to be named this year, however, after Brondby IF and King eSports did not qualify for this season’s tournament.

The winner will receive a total prize pool of $100,000 (£75,000/€89,000).

"We are proud that over 190 teams from all over the world took part in this season’s qualification and we are beyond excited to find the world’s best team out of the top-class field of participating teams," said Adrian Rölli, head of eFootball at FIFA.

"The introduction of team-based 2v2 matches showed a new level of excitement and competitiveness at last year’s event and will undoubtedly spark huge emotions at this year’s tournament as well."
