Poland's Dawid Kubacki has won the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany.

He claimed his third World Cup win in the HS142 event, his second this season.

Austria's Stefan Kraft finished second, with Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi rounding out the podium.

Around 10,000 fans enjoyed the competition, celebrating the reigning world champion's victory.

"It almost felt like a home competition today," Kubacki said.

"I'm very happy that I could stand on top of the podium today and it was a nice experience for everyone who came here.

"When you are up on the hill you can hear the crowd, but you have to remain focused on your goals.

"When you feel the energy of the fans and you hear them cheering for you, it’s a great feeling."

The Pole posted jumps of 140.5 metres and 141m to take gold.

In the overall World Cup rankings, Karl Geiger remains in the lead with 841 points, ahead of Kraft (779) and Kobayashi (715 points).

Kubacki is fourth with 664 points.

The second competition in Titisee-Neustadt is tomorrow.
