Local hero Beat Feuz claimed the Wengen downhill for a third time, at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup in Switzerland.

He registered his 10th World Cup victory in the discipline on the shortened Lauberhorn course.

His mistake-free round delivered gold ahead of Italian Dominik Paris, who was 0.29 seconds behind.

Germany's Thomas Dressed was just a further 0.02 behind in bronze - his third podium of the season and first top-three finish in Wengen.

Despite the heavy snowfall overnight, the course was in excellent condition and delivered a fantastic contest.

Tomorrow, the sixth slalom of the season is on the programme.
